Live Training (Webinar or In-Person)

Level 2 Behavioral Health Provider Training (2)

Description
PREREQUISITE: Level 1: Introductory Training
Completion of Level 1 is required before attending a live Level 2 training. Please purchase the Level 1 & 2 combined course if you haven't already completed Level 1.

Sign up for a date on the course calendar to save your spot. Individuals will not be able to attend Level 2 if they have not completed Level 1. Last minute registration does not always guarantee a seat.

Level 2 is a live training offered in two different formats: a webinar split into two, 4.5-hour days or a full-day in-person 8-hour training. Learning objectives are below. Start by registering for a Level 2 training date in the 'Level 2 Registration'. Once you attend and complete your Level 2 live training, you will be able to complete the Level 2 Test and Level 2 Feedback Survey. Upon completion of the test with a score of 80% or higher, you will receive your Level 1 and Level 2 Certificate of Completion for your completion of Envision:You’s comprehensive 10.5-hour training.

Contact Marie Hafner, the Program Manager for Envision:You's training program, at marie.hafner@envision-you.org with any questions that arise. Thank you for your commitment to providing culturally relevant and affirming services to LGBTQ+ individuals.

Level 2 is designed to help participants:

  • Increase understanding of the unique experiences and traumas of LGBTQ+ people.

  • Develop a foundation that allows for deeper exploration of best practices and considerations for behavioral health providers working with LGBTQ+ clients.

  • Increase understanding of the importance of using an intersectional lens in understanding LGBTQ+ clients’ experiences and identities.

  • Enhance awareness of personal and systemic biases, how they influence institutional settings, and how to mitigate them within institutions to treat a diverse client base.

  • Expand knowledge on the cultural role of substance use among LGBTQ+ folks.

  • Identify and build understanding of the structural and administrative barriers that prevent LGBTQ+ individuals from receiving culturally responsive care in order to create more inclusive behavioral healthcare settings.

  • Apply knowledge gained in course to explore best practices and considerations for people working directly with LGBTQ+ clients.
